LABUHANBATU UTARA, dahsyatnews.com – Operasi pencarian terhadap seorang pemuda yang dilaporkan hanyut di Sungai Kualuh Hulu, Kabupaten Labuhanbatu Utara, berakhir dengan ditemukannya korban dalam kondisi meninggal dunia pada Senin (16/2/2026). Penemuan tersebut terjadi setelah tim gabungan melakukan penyisiran intensif selama beberapa hari.
Korban diketahui bernama Bambang (28), warga Kecamatan Kualuh Leidong. Ia ditemukan sekitar 500 meter dari lokasi awal dilaporkan terseret arus. Informasi tersebut disampaikan Kepala Kantor Pencarian dan Pertolongan Medan, Hery Marantika.
Peristiwa nahas itu terjadi pada Sabtu (14/2), saat korban bersama sejumlah rekannya berada di sekitar aliran sungai. Ketika berusaha menyeberang dengan berenang, korban diduga tidak mampu mengimbangi kuatnya arus air sehingga akhirnya hanyut.
Sebelum laporan resmi disampaikan kepada petugas, warga sekitar sempat melakukan pencarian secara mandiri. Namun upaya tersebut belum membuahkan hasil. “Warga di lokasi sempat melakukan pencarian secara manual, namun belum membuahkan hasil. Kejadian kemudian dilaporkan kepada Basarnas Medan,” ujarnya.
Menindaklanjuti laporan tersebut, personel dari Pos SAR Tanjung Balai Asahan segera diterjunkan ke lokasi kejadian. Metode pencarian dilakukan dengan menyisir aliran sungai menggunakan perahu karet serta melakukan pemantauan di sepanjang bantaran untuk memperluas jangkauan pencarian.
Operasi kemanusiaan ini melibatkan berbagai unsur, di antaranya TNI, Polri, BPBD, relawan, dan masyarakat setempat. Sinergi lintas sektor tersebut dinilai mempercepat proses pencarian hingga korban akhirnya berhasil ditemukan.
Setelah proses evakuasi selesai, jenazah korban diserahkan kepada pihak keluarga untuk dimakamkan. Basarnas turut menyampaikan belasungkawa atas musibah tersebut serta apresiasi kepada seluruh pihak yang terlibat dalam operasi.
Pihak Basarnas juga kembali mengingatkan masyarakat agar lebih berhati-hati ketika beraktivitas di sekitar sungai, terutama pada musim hujan yang berpotensi meningkatkan debit air dan memperkuat arus. “Kami juga mengingatkan orang tua agar selalu mengawasi anak-anak. Sungai bukan tempat bermain yang aman, khususnya saat kondisi air tinggi,” kata Hery.
Kejadian ini menjadi pengingat bahwa aktivitas di perairan memiliki risiko tinggi, terutama di wilayah dengan karakter arus kuat dan perubahan debit air yang cepat. Kewaspadaan serta pengawasan dinilai penting guna mencegah peristiwa serupa terulang.
